We went to the campus of ASU at about 1:00 and stayed until 4:15. The students were well behaved, asked astute questions, and showed an interest in what we had to say about politics and healthcare. One of the students asked us "If God allowed evil in the universe, isn't He the author of evil?"
My response was that God did not create evil but He did create angels and men with free wills. The concept of free will entails that the only person responsible for the free will act is the free moral agent viz. the one who commits the sin - not God. Secondly we don't know if God knew ahead of time what the future was to be of the world that He ultimately created. Does God know all that is knowable or does He know all things? If the future doesn't exist, per our logic, it is unknowable even by God- especially free will decisions. God with His induction has a very good idea as to what the future will bring but the classic view of omniscience doesn't apply to the God of the bible. click here to read further on omniscience.
Additionally a father may give his son the keys to the car knowing that there is a possibility that the boy is going to drag race and speed, and told him not to drag race and speed; this knowledge doesn't entail the father being the author of the son's sins of speeding and drag racing.
As always we preached our message of the good news of "repentance for the remission of sins" and told the students that they can change their eternal destinies by repenting of their sins (committing to forsake all future sins) and trusting in Christ as God Almighty and submitting their lives to His lordship.
I was wearing my "God is a Capitalist" tee shirt which drew a lot of attention and conversations about the direction of the country and how similar the Communists and Nazis were. Soon we will end up as another third world nation because capitalism is the engine of innovation and invention, and progress. Even Hitler knew that he needed to keep the free markets alive so he didn't invade Switzerland so he could have access to these markets. I hope Obama catches on or else we will end up like many of the unproductive nanny states of socialist Europe.
The government workers (professors) were not as well behaved as the students. One walked by and called us F...king Bigots and another elderly professor called us a couple of a... holes. I suppose that at his age he had just about convinced himself that there is no God or Judgment Day; and we had to come along and ruin it for him. These guys just don't get it. They tell us not to judge and then go on to judge us - hypocrisy at its best. We judge, but we judge with righteousness. We preach truth and commonsense which contradicts the liberal talking points that they are indoctrinating the students with; I suspect these professors fear that 3 hours of commonsense conservative Christian thought will undo the absurd teachings of liberalism...“A righteous man who falters before the wicked is like a murky spring and a polluted well.” Proverbs 25:26. If this is what we get from our professors, how much more from the next generation.
People will not stop to hear our message but read our banner which is no more than 1 Corinthians 6:9 - and get upset and offended. They are upset because we are raising high the banner of God and His will, and they don't want to hear that they are not living up to God's standards. The bible says that Christ offended many...we now know why. The apostles were all murdered (except for John), we now know why. If you are preaching the truth of God, the unbeliever living in rebellion to God will get angry and offended. If your message is not offending the sinner, you had better examine your message to make sure that you are declaring God's will. Jesus said "the world hates me because I testify of its deeds and its deeds are evil".
One student approached us about doing a documentary on us for his film class the near future. Another asked if we hold bible study or church. We are going to put the link on our board and if we get enough interest we will start one of the two. We feel the gospel is not being preached anymore in the Evangelical churches and there is a need to teach the gospel of repentance and holiness along with Moral Government Theology.
